NUTWORKS HISTORY
Long ago, indigenous tribes along the east coast of Australia gathered the seeds of the 'Kindal Kindal' rainforest tree. Today this seed is known as the Macadamia Nut. Native to Australia and popular internationally, Macadamias are grown mostly in the sub tropical regions of Queensland where the original trees flourished and set the world standard for taste and quality. NUTWORKS is a Macadamia processing facility and tourist attraction that is located in the cane farming town of Yandina, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, one hour north of Brisbane and only 25 minutes south of the world famous 'Noosa Heads'.
NUTWORKS commenced operations in the early 1990's in a small factory on a farm property. Due to rapid expansion, the company established a new factory and tourist facility directly opposite the Ginger Factory on Pioneer Road Yandina and commenced processing Macadamias at the new facility in 1997. The company continues to grow rapidly as demand for the Macadamia nut increases.
NUTWORKS processes nuts sourced from most growing areas in Queensland. Product from the company's factory is exported all over the world as well as supplying the local Australian market. Some major supermarket chains throughout Australia are our biggest customers.
The Sunshine Coast is known for its rolling canefields, beautiful beaches, spectacular hinterland and lush tropical rainforests. We have ideal weather for producing many tropical crops, including; sugar cane, pineapples, and ginger. Some large processors in the Sunshine Coast area have opened their doors to visitors due to public interest in the processing of our local crops. Nutworks invites visitors to see the processing of their bulk product and caters to visitors with an array of giftshop items, wholesome lunches and snacks, ample parking and friendly staff! |
